Formally trained in both graphic design & fine art, Robert Aucoin combined his artistic talents with his love for structural design & welding to create his innovative design and manufacturing studio “Iron Art” in 1993. The studio & workshop are located on the north shore of Loughborough Lake just outside of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. As an artist, Robert remains closely connected to the art community creating one-of-a-kind pieces presented in Art Guilds & Galleries. As a designer, Robert often begins with his own concept, simple sketch, or with an idea from his vast clientele which includes Roots Canada & Soho, N.Y., architects, artists, interior designers, and individual clients worldwide. Whether producing one-of-a-kind items or working with clients anywhere in the world, the bottom line is... they trust Robert with their ideas...concept to completion.While continuing to accept residential and commercial commissions, creating interiors, functional furnishings, and accessories that will last a lifetime, Robert is continually expanding his repertoire. A new line of original, hand-forged, stainless steel, hypo-allergenic buckles were recently designed to complement jeans, suits, and casual wear and are now selling worldwide.
